SEND Horizons CIC was founded by the team behind SEND & Sensory to expand our shared mission into the heart of the community.
While both organisations are united in their purpose — to support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families — they operate independently, each with a clear and distinct role.
Our Founders
SEND Horizons was founded by Alda and Nick—two passionate advocates with a shared mission: to ensure that every family of a child with special educational needs and disabilities feels supported, empowered, and never alone.
After establishing SEND & Sensory, a successful therapy-led service supporting neurodivergent children, Alda and Nick saw the need to go further. They recognised that many families were still falling through the gaps—unable to access timely support, overwhelmed by the system, or simply in need of connection and guidance.
With this vision, SEND Horizons was born. More than just an extension of their original service, it is a growing community initiative built on compassion, inclusion, and the belief that early support changes lives.
Their goal is clear: to expand their reach, deepen their impact, and walk alongside even more families—helping them navigate the challenges and celebrate the triumphs of life with SEND.
Our Commitment
At SEND Horizons, we are dedicated to enhancing lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and their families. Our approach focuses on providing personalised support and innovative educational programmes that empower child to thrive. Empowering Families Together
Our mission is to empower families of children with special educational needs and disabilities by providing them with the necessary resources, support, and tools to thrive. We believe in building a strong community that fosters inclusivity and understanding.
SEND Horizons CIC is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company, created to offer free and low-cost support through:
- Parent workshops and training
- Coffee mornings and peer support groups
- Inclusive community events
- Outreach, advocacy, signposting, family navigation and early intervention activities
- Mental health and emotional wellbeing support for parents and carers, and the children in their care
As a CIC, SEND Horizons operates for public benefit and adheres to the legal and financial regulations set out for community interest organisations in the UK.
SEND & Sensory is a privately owned therapy clinic offering specialist services such as: Speech and Language Therapy Occupational Therapy, ABA and SCERTS-based interventions Family consultations and support plans
Clinical services are tailored to meet the individual needs of children and their families, ensuring high-quality, evidence-based care in a supportive environment.
Although linked by shared values and a collaborative spirit, SEND & Sensory and SEND Horizons CIC are separate legal entities, with distinct governance, funding, and accountability.
This structure ensures full transparency, ethical integrity, and compliance with all relevant UK regulations.
Together, we’re building a bridge between professional therapeutic services and community-based support — creating a holistic, inclusive network for children with SEND and the families who care for them.
